Photo update: Han's 27th birthday

I'm home alone now.

My mum went back to Kluang to attend one of her ex-schoolmate's daughter's wedding.
My dad went to Kota Kinabalu for a treasure hunt. I sent him & his treasure hunt mate to LCCT just now.

Han's celebrating his belated b'day with the boys. Didn't want to join them cause just thought that they would enjoy it better without having a female around. hahaha..
anyway, i felt a little lazy after sending dad to LCCT. :P

Here are some photos to entertain everyone!

Han's 27th birthday celebration:

First celebration: with Han's family @ Korean restaurant, Section 14, PJ. (don't remember the name of the restaurant.)

Family Photo

The FOOD!! and of course, now that I don't eat meat. All I ate was the side dishes but it was enough! I enjoyed just eating the vegetables with those small little side dishes. :))

Just found Korean stuff a little different. I like their bowl. Perhaps could get it for our new house?!? haha..

Second celebration: just the two of us @ ss18/1, sj - my home! :))

I cooked! hahaha. Han said it was nice! but of course, not sure if he's lying-he kept saying it was the truth! haha.. anyways, it turned out great! just the two of us, enjoying home cooked food & a small bottle of champagne! (ok... should have rotated the photo before uploading it.)

I didn't have time to bake a cake. so we didn't have any dessert. :)

Third celebration:
Amalina & Alifah bought Han lunch on his birthday. They went to Delicious. So nice of them! :)

Fourth celebration: TJ Haus, SJ with my parents.

My dad was trying to take a photo of my mum. hahaha..

Dad & mum shared a mushroom soup

Han & I shared a seafood soup.

My meal: Grilled Sole Fish.

Dad's meal: Grilled Mahi-mahi

Han's meal: Ribeye!

Mum's meal: Grilled duck breast

Well, hope he's enjoying his fifth 27th birthday celebration now! hehe..

The mood is back!

I tend to wait for my mood to get to me for matters concerning cooking, cleaning, baking & etc..
so.. the mood is back! hahahaha..
(I know I can't follow my mood when I move to the new house... cause I have to do everything. Well, when responsibility is thrown at my face, I'll take it and do it with a brave heart! kaka..)

I made my own lunch today.(Like so proud, but actually it's not that biggie lar..)
Just tossed some salad with olive oil & cheese dressing. Added some tuna to make it not so "turtle food-ish".:))

I went grocery shopping yesterday & today. Yesterday was with Han at Giant, USJ 1. We went there to get some stuff needed for home. Then today, I went grocery shopping by myself at Carrefour, SS 16. Got some salad, salad dressing, tuna (my lunch), brown sugar, bread, apples & oranges.

I have a new "recipe". My Godma taught me how to make natural "enzymes" from fruits. My dad said "enzymes" need to be consumed because as we grow older, we don't produce enzymes of our own. Then it'll lead to problems with your stomach like indigestion. So I decided to try it. It's rather easy, all I need was a jar, apples & brown sugar. Leave it for a month and VOILA!, you get enzymes to drink! If this turns out successfully *fingers crossed*, I'll then proceed to make other fruit enzyme... hmm...

Oh.. I bumped into a cake recipe today. It was published in The Star newspaper today. "Durian Butter Cake". I'm not a "I-MUST-eat-durian-every-freaking-season" kind of person, I don't mind having it either. This recipe seems simple.. so I shall try it over the weekend!
(Don't think my dad would like it but I'm trying it because it seem so simple! Hopefully he'll try a piece, at least. :)) )

Next Tuesday is Han's birthday! :)) (I know what I'm going to get him, perhaps get it tonight!!)
Since I won't be on leave on that day and I don't think he is either.. I thought of cooking him a meal this Sunday.
(Since I'm still staying with my parents, I shall cook for my parents too!My dad started eating fish, so it's a lot easier for me to cook for the family.)
I went through my recipe collection last night and stumbled upon a few interesting recipes. I have decided to go Western. (even though I know that Han prefers Chinese, but I'll start with Western-it's a lot easier for beginners..)
Recipe for this Sunday:
1) Poached Salmon Steaks
2) Salad
3) Skordalia (It's actually mashed potato Greek style!)
4) Dessert : Durian Butter Cake (with Ice-cream??)

Wish me good luck! Hope I won't mess up my mum's kitchen! hahahaa..

I'm now trying very hard to stay awake. Have to discipline myself to not take a nap cause from tomorrow onwards (weekends excluded) I can't take a nap! (well, unless I hide in the toilet.) hahahhaa..
Shall stay online while waiting for the washing machine to finish washing the clothes then dry it before I go out with Tan Lu & Sen Chee later.
Actually, I'm quite tired, legs are aching cause I went to the gym yesterday & this morning.
(don't think about it Yi Lei.. don't don't don't!! hahahaha..)

Ooppss.. it's 4.15pm already!! accks.. Tan Lu is coming over at 5pm. Yikes.. I better get dressed. :P

A day to remember - 24th January 2008

Han & I registered our marriage on the 24th of January 2008 at Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara, Putrajaya.

Han's family & our closest friends were there to be our witness.

Han chose his brother to be his witness & I chose my bestfriend who I knew the longest, Syaza to be my witness to sign on the papers.

We had a great time... laughing & making jokes. We are just happy to be surrounded with such beautiful people.

After the "ceremony", we went to TGI Friday's, Subang Parade for lunch just to thank our family & friends. :)

Han & I with our certificate of marriage.

I can't seem to upload more photos.. so for the mo, you want more photos, please view my facebook! hehehehe..

Holidays season

My parents are on Christmas Holidays with my dad's treasure hunt friends. They are going on a trip to Sipadan Island. :) Heard it's one of the best in the world!! Hope my parents will have a great relaxing time.

So now I'm home alone. My uncle went back to Kluang. Han will be accompanying me for the next 6 days! :))

Let me just give a brief update...

Our wedding plans has changed (again) and I hope that this time is the final one. Han's mum told us that she wants dinner for all relatives & friends. So we have decided to go back to hotels. We are sorta 80% decided on which hotel that we want. Now we'll just have to talk to Han's parents about it. (My mum said that I can't just make a decision without talking to his parents.)

So we'll do the discussion over this weekend and hopefully there isn't more complications.

Ok.. enough about our wedding..
speaking of wedding..
I have 5 weddings to attend in 3 months!!! hahahahahahaa... i'm so going to be broke.

I attended Vani's engagement ceremony. It was my first time attending an Indian engagement ceremony. Quite an eye opener. I was there for 2 hours plus and out of that 2 plus hours, I only took 15 minutes to eat. hahahahhaa..

On Christmas day, I will be attending Tuty's engagement ceremony. It's also my first time attending a Malay engagement ceremony. PLUS, I'm going to be one of her "dayang". :) Hopefully I won't drop the "hantaran". Must practise walking and kneeling down with the kebaya first. hehehehe..

I'm going for my colleague, Aemy's house warming this Friday. :) Han is coming with me.

hahaha.. so many parties & celebrations... but it's all happy & good! :) so.. i'll just have to sacrifice a little.

There are things that I need to do/get before Christmas:
1) A pair of shoes for dinners
2) Trim my eyebrow

hmm.. hey! that's about all. hahaha.. I thought it would come to a long list. kekekee..

Ok.. better freshen up and wait for my darling to come! hmm.. wonder what to eat for lunch! Food is always on my mind.. :P

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!! *hugs*

how time passes by..

I was just looking at the calender... something struck me and I realized how fast time passes by.

A few "events" came to my mind:
  • New Year Eve 2006, Han and I was with Suresh, Eric Low, Shi Mien & bf, Yee Fei watching the fire works at KLCC.
  • A not-so-smooth CNY back at Granny's house, pray that next year it'll be blessed with peace & harmony.
  • I got my very first performance bonus 9 months ago.
  • I was baptized 8 months ago.
Han and I graduated from our Catholic Marriage Preparation Course ( we were given a certificate that proves that we have completed the course!). Now we'll have to arrange a date & time with our Parish Priest for the Pre-Nuptial Evening.

We also applied for marriage registration on our anniversary day (23rd November). Our names are now posted up and if everything goes well, we'll register on the 23rd of January 2008. :)

Another good news to note, my dad & I signed our Sales & Purchase Agreement on the 23rd of November 2007.
Now we are just waiting for Alliance or Maybank to offer us. We'll take whichever that gives us the best rate. :)
After "choosing" which bank, hopefully the loan will be released as schedule. Once the loan is released, we'll have to shop for the necessary furnitures & electrical items.

Did I mention that I'm always hunting for something? Yup.. it won't stop! I guess that's life eh? :)

The SALE season is back! Somehow, I'm not much a "sale" person as I grew older. Only buy whatever that I need. So the sale season is only a chance for me to purchase items that I need at a cheaper price! Good PLUS! Whatever that helps me save money is a good PLUS! :)

First Sunday of Advent

The season of Advent has just started. The name of this season of four weeks preceding Christmas and beginning of the church year comes from the Latin, adventus, "coming" and of course anticipates the coming of Christ as a human being, of the Word made Flesh, of the Incarnation.

3 more Sundays and it will be Christmas! :)

On another note:
Han and I have decided to have a luncheon for our relatives and dinner for our friends & parent's friends. Reason being,
1) we can't find an affordable place that would accommodate everyone.
2) our relatives would appreciate chinese restaurant food more.
3) our parents would be able to have some time with their friends at night rather than just family on that day.
4) it's simple as how we liked it.

It's not anything "grand" cause after all it's just a day to mark a beginning of a new chapter for Han and I.The luncheon and dinner would just be something for everyone to sit back and relax, enjoy the food, catch up with each other and at the same time celebrating this joyous occasion with us. :)

We hope that this choice would be accepted by our parents as its the idea that fits every "criteria".

We found our venue for dinner (but haven't confirm with the restaurant). It's a simple yet nice place. The boss was very kind and nice too! :)
Have yet to decide on which restaurant to go to for the luncheon though. Looking at:
1) The Ming Room
2) Oriental Pavilion, Jaya 33
or any place that serves excellent chinese food!

take a deep breathe...

I've cooled down. It's a very bad habit of mine -easily irritated/frustrated with my mum's comments/ideas/opinions.

Han and I will have to be creative now. With a budget, guests satisfaction, number of guests, what we want taken into consideration... it's not going to be easy. I just hope that I can get the venue as soon as possible. I found out that people started booking venues for dates in 2009!!

So now, we are looking at restaurants.
1) Ciao Ristorante
2) Tamarind Hill
3) Courtyard Garden

I haven't been to Ciao & Courtyard before. Anyone been there? comments?
Any good restaurants to recommend?
why is it so stressful? shouldn't planning for the wedding be enjoyable?

one moment, my mum says don't do it this way, do it this way.
then don't do it that way.. do it another way!
another day, don't invite so many ppl.. but have to invite this person that person.
don't do it in chinese restaurant, do it in hotels. then don't do it in hotels... do somewhere cheaper.

AARRGGGHHH!

random: after dinner

I just came back from dinner with mum. Had dinner at Syed, SS 19. Now having some rojak as "dessert".

I think I eat a lot these days. Would blame it on the cold weather.. but I know it's mainly due to my undisciplined eating habit. hmm.. think i better be more strict on myself.

Now that I have some time for photos... here are some random photos! :)

15th October 2007: Ai Chee, Poh Cheng & I @ Midvalley celebrating Ai Chee's birthday.
Top: Poh Cheng, Ai Chee & I.
Bottom: Ai Chee & I.

Wish we had more time to spend together. I guess that's life...but I'm glad that we still get to catch up once in a while! :) Miss these 2 girls so much.

20th October 2007: Eric, Suresh & Siew Moy's Party @ Berjaya Times Square Hotel

The ex-roomies!

Red faced!

The birthday cakes!
The obscene one is for Eric & Suresh. The strawberry cheesecake is for Siew Moy. I just love the strawberry cheesecake. It's from Australia Bakery-or something like that. :P

Think I better freshen up. Han may just call me anytime now.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Random

I arrived home. Walked home from KTM station. I do enjoy walking, only that it's not that safe. So once in a while is not too bad. And it's also good for me since I can't go to the gym today, so I hope I would at least burn off my breakfast just now. :P

I'm waiting for Han to come over. He's going for his company's annual dinner. The annual dinner is at Sunway Hotel, very near my house. To not spend money on parking, I'm going to send him there and pick him up when he's done.
(Oh.. he's here! hahaa..what a coincidence.)

Ok.. i'm not waiting for Han to finish bathing then will send him to Sunway Hotel. :)

My mum is home too! We are going to have dinner after sending Han to Sunway Hotel.
My dad will be home late. I pity him, he's got so much to do. I hope it won't be too much for his body. I pray every day that my parents will be blessed with a long healthy life.

Hmm.. i wanted to post up some photos. Perhaps I'll do it later.
