Holidays season

My parents are on Christmas Holidays with my dad's treasure hunt friends. They are going on a trip to Sipadan Island. :) Heard it's one of the best in the world!! Hope my parents will have a great relaxing time.

So now I'm home alone. My uncle went back to Kluang. Han will be accompanying me for the next 6 days! :))

Let me just give a brief update...

Our wedding plans has changed (again) and I hope that this time is the final one. Han's mum told us that she wants dinner for all relatives & friends. So we have decided to go back to hotels. We are sorta 80% decided on which hotel that we want. Now we'll just have to talk to Han's parents about it. (My mum said that I can't just make a decision without talking to his parents.)

So we'll do the discussion over this weekend and hopefully there isn't more complications.

Ok.. enough about our wedding..
speaking of wedding..
I have 5 weddings to attend in 3 months!!! hahahahahahaa... i'm so going to be broke.

I attended Vani's engagement ceremony. It was my first time attending an Indian engagement ceremony. Quite an eye opener. I was there for 2 hours plus and out of that 2 plus hours, I only took 15 minutes to eat. hahahahhaa..

On Christmas day, I will be attending Tuty's engagement ceremony. It's also my first time attending a Malay engagement ceremony. PLUS, I'm going to be one of her "dayang". :) Hopefully I won't drop the "hantaran". Must practise walking and kneeling down with the kebaya first. hehehehe..

I'm going for my colleague, Aemy's house warming this Friday. :) Han is coming with me.

hahaha.. so many parties & celebrations... but it's all happy & good! :) so.. i'll just have to sacrifice a little.

There are things that I need to do/get before Christmas:
1) A pair of shoes for dinners
2) Trim my eyebrow

hmm.. hey! that's about all. hahaha.. I thought it would come to a long list. kekekee..

Ok.. better freshen up and wait for my darling to come! hmm.. wonder what to eat for lunch! Food is always on my mind.. :P

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!! *hugs*

how time passes by..

I was just looking at the calender... something struck me and I realized how fast time passes by.

A few "events" came to my mind:
  • New Year Eve 2006, Han and I was with Suresh, Eric Low, Shi Mien & bf, Yee Fei watching the fire works at KLCC.
  • A not-so-smooth CNY back at Granny's house, pray that next year it'll be blessed with peace & harmony.
  • I got my very first performance bonus 9 months ago.
  • I was baptized 8 months ago.
Han and I graduated from our Catholic Marriage Preparation Course ( we were given a certificate that proves that we have completed the course!). Now we'll have to arrange a date & time with our Parish Priest for the Pre-Nuptial Evening.

We also applied for marriage registration on our anniversary day (23rd November). Our names are now posted up and if everything goes well, we'll register on the 23rd of January 2008. :)

Another good news to note, my dad & I signed our Sales & Purchase Agreement on the 23rd of November 2007.
Now we are just waiting for Alliance or Maybank to offer us. We'll take whichever that gives us the best rate. :)
After "choosing" which bank, hopefully the loan will be released as schedule. Once the loan is released, we'll have to shop for the necessary furnitures & electrical items.

Did I mention that I'm always hunting for something? Yup.. it won't stop! I guess that's life eh? :)

The SALE season is back! Somehow, I'm not much a "sale" person as I grew older. Only buy whatever that I need. So the sale season is only a chance for me to purchase items that I need at a cheaper price! Good PLUS! Whatever that helps me save money is a good PLUS! :)

First Sunday of Advent

The season of Advent has just started. The name of this season of four weeks preceding Christmas and beginning of the church year comes from the Latin, adventus, "coming" and of course anticipates the coming of Christ as a human being, of the Word made Flesh, of the Incarnation.

3 more Sundays and it will be Christmas! :)

On another note:
Han and I have decided to have a luncheon for our relatives and dinner for our friends & parent's friends. Reason being,
1) we can't find an affordable place that would accommodate everyone.
2) our relatives would appreciate chinese restaurant food more.
3) our parents would be able to have some time with their friends at night rather than just family on that day.
4) it's simple as how we liked it.

It's not anything "grand" cause after all it's just a day to mark a beginning of a new chapter for Han and I.The luncheon and dinner would just be something for everyone to sit back and relax, enjoy the food, catch up with each other and at the same time celebrating this joyous occasion with us. :)

We hope that this choice would be accepted by our parents as its the idea that fits every "criteria".

We found our venue for dinner (but haven't confirm with the restaurant). It's a simple yet nice place. The boss was very kind and nice too! :)
Have yet to decide on which restaurant to go to for the luncheon though. Looking at:
1) The Ming Room
2) Oriental Pavilion, Jaya 33
or any place that serves excellent chinese food!

take a deep breathe...

I've cooled down. It's a very bad habit of mine -easily irritated/frustrated with my mum's comments/ideas/opinions.

Han and I will have to be creative now. With a budget, guests satisfaction, number of guests, what we want taken into consideration... it's not going to be easy. I just hope that I can get the venue as soon as possible. I found out that people started booking venues for dates in 2009!!

So now, we are looking at restaurants.
1) Ciao Ristorante
2) Tamarind Hill
3) Courtyard Garden

I haven't been to Ciao & Courtyard before. Anyone been there? comments?
Any good restaurants to recommend?
why is it so stressful? shouldn't planning for the wedding be enjoyable?

one moment, my mum says don't do it this way, do it this way.
then don't do it that way.. do it another way!
another day, don't invite so many ppl.. but have to invite this person that person.
don't do it in chinese restaurant, do it in hotels. then don't do it in hotels... do somewhere cheaper.

AARRGGGHHH!

random: after dinner

I just came back from dinner with mum. Had dinner at Syed, SS 19. Now having some rojak as "dessert".

I think I eat a lot these days. Would blame it on the cold weather.. but I know it's mainly due to my undisciplined eating habit. hmm.. think i better be more strict on myself.

Now that I have some time for photos... here are some random photos! :)

15th October 2007: Ai Chee, Poh Cheng & I @ Midvalley celebrating Ai Chee's birthday.
Top: Poh Cheng, Ai Chee & I.
Bottom: Ai Chee & I.

Wish we had more time to spend together. I guess that's life...but I'm glad that we still get to catch up once in a while! :) Miss these 2 girls so much.

20th October 2007: Eric, Suresh & Siew Moy's Party @ Berjaya Times Square Hotel

The ex-roomies!

One Second!

Power Rangers

The cheeky boys

Red faced!

The birthday cakes!
The obscene one is for Eric & Suresh. The strawberry cheesecake is for Siew Moy. I just love the strawberry cheesecake. It's from Australia Bakery-or something like that. :P

Think I better freshen up. Han may just call me anytime now.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Random

I arrived home. Walked home from KTM station. I do enjoy walking, only that it's not that safe. So once in a while is not too bad. And it's also good for me since I can't go to the gym today, so I hope I would at least burn off my breakfast just now. :P

I'm waiting for Han to come over. He's going for his company's annual dinner. The annual dinner is at Sunway Hotel, very near my house. To not spend money on parking, I'm going to send him there and pick him up when he's done.
(Oh.. he's here! hahaa..what a coincidence.)

Ok.. i'm not waiting for Han to finish bathing then will send him to Sunway Hotel. :)

My mum is home too! We are going to have dinner after sending Han to Sunway Hotel.
My dad will be home late. I pity him, he's got so much to do. I hope it won't be too much for his body. I pray every day that my parents will be blessed with a long healthy life.

Hmm.. i wanted to post up some photos. Perhaps I'll do it later.

Will I eventually give up?

I used to look forward to going to work every day.
Well, most people say "Oh, first job and you just started.. that's why! wait and see.."

I didn't understand what they meant then... but now.. I think I'm starting to understand what they mean.

Don't get me wrong, I like what I'm doing. It's just people that I'm working with made me feel like staying in bed a little longer every day.
Obviously I can't!

To achieve my dream, I will have to keep working. so I'll just have to "live" with it but it's eating up inside bit by bit.
I have to be patient & tolerant all the time, keep praying that I'll be given the strength to hold on.

So.. where's the limit? where should the line be drawn? Will I eventually give up?

Power Rangers on stage!

Here's a photo of team Power Rangers on stage with our DVD players.

From right to left: Me, Han, Eric & Eyun. ( I don't know who's that guy but he was the one who gave us our prize!)

Ok.. i better settle the loan stuff with my dad now. :P

we are always hunting for something...

My last update was about the treasure hunt. Team Power Rangers were in the top 15.. we got the 12th placing! hehee..
each of us brought home a Phillip DVD player! :)
Well, not that bad... Han admitted that he had fun. So we are going to be back up hunters! and perhaps join more novice hunts if we are free!

Now that treasure hunt is over....
Our house hunt is also over!!
We found a house at SS 18/4F! it's the perfect house.
I like it cause we don't have to do much with the house. Perhaps just paint it a different colour, install the grills and "TADAAA!" we have a new home. But that would cost us a little money.. so perhaps we'll have to wait for that. No problemos.. everything can be worked out.
Everything is there: cabinets, wardrobe, air-cond & heater..
It's fully renovated, front & back.

So the next "hunt"... is housing loan hunt!
I'm looking for the best rate. Working out on a few types of combination of loans/the bank that could give us the best rate. Just making sure that we could save as much $$$$ as possible.

We are also hunting for our wedding dinner venue. Will start the hunt next week. Went to one today but didn't like the idea of not having a private room. So we canceled it out of our list.

After hunting for these two stuff, which may take my time up to January...
I'll have to start hunting for other stuffs, i.e: furniture, wedding stuff (which i have no idea what just yet..), wedding gown, evening gown, shoes & etc..

Hopefully I can do all these month by month so that I won't be too stressed up towards the wedding day! ;)

Team Power Rangers!

I just came back from the above treasure hunt. Was in a team with Han, his bestfriend (Eric) and Eric's colleague (Eyun). Our team competition number was 159 and we named our team Power Rangers! hahaha.. don't ask me why cause Eric was the one who registered for us. :P

Anyway, the hunt was quite interesting. Fun but i had a banging head the whole way. It's probably due to the way the driver was driving and also my lack of sleep! hahaha..
Han didn't really have a fun time cause he had a bad headache all the way cause of the driving and reading in the car. It's his first time hunting.... so hopefully it won't keep him away from hunts!:P

I went out with the gals last night. We were celebrating Syaza's birthday. (very much belated one). Will post up pics when i get them from Syaza & Tuty. We went to this place called Green Lotus Cafe.(They serve Thai food). It's located behind KL Plaza. Not an easy place to find (well, at least for me cause i'm not that familiar with KL roads, only familiar with famous places.)
but i kinda like the concept. They serve reasonable priced food for its portion! :)

Tuty and I decided to get some balloons just to have some fun! Sulo and Tuty bought "Strawberry Shortcake" party hats from Parkson on Thursday. So we were all taking photos with our party hat and balloon! ahahahahaa...

I had a great time even though I felt tired this morning but it's worth it! since i don't see the gals that often, every time we hang out it doesn't matter how tired i'll be the next day. :)

Ok.. i better get some rest. Will have to go for treasure hunt dinner later. They are going to announce the winners tonight. The top 3 winners will have to compete again on stage!! hahaha.. well, i don't think we'll be one of the top 3. We are only aiming for top 10! ;)

HE'S BACK!!

They found CHARLIE!!!

A good samaritan adopted him when he found him at his friend's house (which was near my colleague's house). My colleague and her husband gave out fliers around her area and the guy called her husband yesterday!!! The adopter even brought Charlie for grooming.. so sweet of him! Thank God he's a pet lover too!

It was such great news!I almost cried... tears of joy. =P

They brought him back home yesterday. Thank God for answering all our prayers. :)))

what should I say?

Yesterday my colleague told me "Charlie (her dog) went missing..."
and I didn't know what to say to her.. so I just gave her some "hopeful" words..
"Don't worry, perhaps he's just having some "fun" time."
Another colleague told her "Try to search inside the drain. Sometimes they fall inside but don't know how to get out."

At night I messaged her, asking whether she found Charlie.
She said they still couldn't find him.
The only words I could say is "Pray that he's safe and he'll return to you soon.*hugs* Take a good rest. I know it's tough but try to catch some sleep."

It got me thinking of how I lost my dogs.
Happy (my first dog) went missing once. I was maybe 8-10 years old (not sure). I was very sad when we couldn't find her. However, the person that "took" her returned her home. Asking for some money. I could still remember my dad coming into my room telling me "Look who's back?!" (it felt like a dream when he asked me) I sleepily answered "Happy...". I didn't wake up immediately, I guess I was too tired from worrying and crying.
The next morning I found her running around inside my house and my dad told me the story above! :)

Well, animals come and go, just like humans.

Throughout my 24 years, I lost 2 dogs, Happy & Shaggy.
I still have 3 with me, Pingu, Tomo & Kai Xin.
It's great to have these furry creatures in my life but it's sad to know they'll leave you some day. It's sad but true...

but what words should I use to tell her that "everything will be ok.." ?

my first post

Since my sis and dad has a spot in blogspot. I thought it would be nice for me to explore. I used to "blog" in livejournal but it just didn't keep me going. Perhaps I'll be more motivated to blog here. I hope uploading photos on blogspot is much faster & easier than lj.

It's a quiet night. My parents are asleep.. it's unusual as I'm usually the first to be in the bedroom. Maybe cause it's just such a nice evening to sleep.(so why am i not in bed?haha..)
My dogs are asleep. From my seat I can see "Round Tomo" sleeping with only her head slanted to the side and Pingu sleeping too. Can't see Kai Xin from here though.

I'm waiting for Han to call me. He's at his ex-colleague's wedding at Imbi Palace. According to him (he sms-ed me.), the food there is nice! However, he feels over dressed. Well, I always feel that it's better to be over dressed than under dressed. At least you won't be outstanding for the wrong reasons!

I attended Tek Mei's wedding yesterday. It was the first time that I've attended a wedding at a convention centre. Also the first time that I've attended such a wedding with SO MANY people. I got a shock when I saw that there are 75 tables in the hall!

(Han just called me. :) )

Everyone's grown up...taking the next step: Marriage.

Well, I'm taking that next step too! It's not anytime soon. For now the date is set on the 3rd of January 2009.
The date is a little too far for my liking but I have to accommodate a few VIP. Well, no regrets! On the positive note: I have more time to make and save money!

There are a few things that I have to start doing now:
1) Marriage Preparation Course
Han and I are attending this course. It's a 7 week class and so far we attended 2 classes. Well, the things that they have mentioned in the class is not that new to the both of us. Served more like a "refresher". I won't say that we are wasting our time. It's for our marriage, our future. So it's good to attend the course and perhaps we'll discover new things about each other!

2) Pre-nuptial Evening
After the marriage prep., we'll have to go for an interview with our parish priest. Once he "approves", we can book the church/chapel and the priest's time.

3) Decide on whether to do it at a church/chapel.
Most probably we'll go for chapel as we worship there and it has air cond! hahaha ... (I have to make sure that I don't sweat as easily on that day. It'll just ruin my make up!)

4) Restaurant hunting
After much discussion with both parents, Han and I agreed to have a small dinner for family and close friends. So it's going to be a cozy dinner. (I like small groups, it's so much more "relaxing".)
Therefore, we have to start hunting for a restaurant.

After selecting the restaurant, we'll have more time to think about other stuff! :)

I think this is quite a long post for a first post.
I seem to be pouring out everything that I have in mind.

Btw, does anyone know a tailor that makes good Cheong Sam at an affordable price? Say RM100-200 for workmanship?
I'm looking for one. Do leave a comment if you know any!
